Åkle Jacket

We use a variety of traditional Norwegian patterned woven carpets handmade in the 1900s in our design. The patterns are originated from different areas, all with different weaving techniques.

Recouture is proud to incorporate the patterns and motifs of Norwegian handcraft into our work, creating one-of-a-kind contemporary garments of this traditional textile.

We hope this will help to keep the tradition alive and ensure that handcraft remains an important part of Norway's cultural heritage.

Values we care about.

  • Redesign and upcycling old clothes reduce textile waste and lower the environmental impact of fashion. By reusing and repurposing materials, it reduces the need for new resources and decreases the carbon footprint of the fashion industry.

  • Redesigned and upcycled clothes offer unique one-of-a-kind designs that can't be found in traditional retail stores. Clothes can be redesigned in a way that gives them a new life, adding creativity, and individuality to each garment. How unique is that?

  • Redesigned and upcycled clothes are probably more expensive compared to investing in a new fast fashion item. But, considering that you give your favorites a new life, reducing textile waste and lower the environmental impact with your fashion choices, it may be worth it ?

  • With redesign and upcycling of clothes, we have the opportunity to customize clothes to suit every individually body and unique style preference. Our bodys are not equal to a conventional size guide, right ?

  • We source all of our materials locally and from online marketplaces in Norway. We use waste and deadstock from the fashion industry. We belive this is the way to become circular in the textile industry.
