We believe preserving heritage means making it a living part of everyday life. Kjetil Rekdal believes that too.

Recouture and Flokk took a pre-owned HÅG Capisco —an icon of Norwegian design— and gave it a new life. When the chair was finished, we asked him: "What do you think we should do with it?"

He has spoken.

"Auction it. Donate the proceeds to the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society."

On Sunday, July 5, as Norway kicks off against Brazil in the Round of 16—28 years after Kjetil scored against Brazil at the 1998 FIFA World Cup—the chair begins its next journey.

The auction opens at 10:00 PM and runs until the final whistle of the quarter-final on July 11.

100% of the auction proceeds will be donated to the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society.

Some stories are too important to simply be preserved. They deserve to keep making a difference—this time, for the children.

Thank you, Kjetil. ❤️

The Story

We managed to get our hands on an original Norway World Cup jersey from 1994.

No. 10. Kjetil Rekdal.
We where facing a difficult decision.

An original shirt.

A piece of Norwegian football history.

The same question we ask ourselves every day:
Should we preserve the object?
Or preserve the story?

To preserve

At Recouture, we believe preservation is not about putting history away.

It is about making it a living part of everyday life.

That philosophy became the foundation of this project.

Instead of storing the jersey, we carefully transformed it by hand in our sewing studio at Hadeland.

Every stitch was made with respect for what came before.

Not to erase its history.

But to let it continue.

Two icons. One new story.

The jersey wasn't the only object given a second life. The chair itself is a pre-owned HÅG Capisco, sourced through Secundo. An icon of Norwegian design. A chair built to last. A jersey remembered by a nation. A chair designed for generations. Both were created to last.

Now they continue their journey together.

The next journey

When the chair was finished, we asked Kjetil Rekdal one simple question:

"What do you think we should do with it?" He didn't hesitate. "Auction it. Donate the proceeds to Barnekreftforeningen."

The decision was made.

On Sunday, as Norway meets Brazil —28 years after Kjetil's unforgettable goal against Brazil in the 1998 FIFA World Cup—Capisco No. 10 begins its next journey.

The chair will be auctioned from 10:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, until the final whistle of the World Cup quarter-final on July 11.

100% of the proceeds will be donated to Barnekreftforeningen.

Some stories are too important to simply be preserved. They deserve to keep making a difference—this time, for the children.
