Hadelandsarv

About the bed

The Hadeland Heritage Bed is crafted from materials that have already lived a life, with a deep appreciation for Norwegian craftsmanship and textile traditions.

A bed that brings together people, materials and places.

Created for the future, from resources that were already here.

The headboard features vintage Norwegian woven tapestries (åkler) from the 20th century, carefully curated and designed by Recouture. It is constructed using reclaimed wood and foam from reMadrass, with wool felt made from surplus materials from the Norwegian wool industry. The wool is collected by Sirkull and processed by Aleksander at Telemark Filt.

At the heart of the bed are cleaned and restored box spring mattresses and foam from reMadrass, upholstered in the textile “Hemsedal” from Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik.

The wood comes from an old barn in Tingelstad and has been given new life through Torstein Skjaker’s careful selection, dismantling and craftsmanship.

The bed runner and cushions are made from textiles by Grinakervev and fabric traditionally used in the men's waistcoat of the Hadeland bunad (Norwegian national costume).

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life!
