Arendalsuka 2025 - Runway for the Future

Amidst the buzzing crowds, political debates and bright summer skies, a ten-meter-long red carpet was rolled out in Pollen – not to showcase traditional fashion, but to highlight textiles and resources that have been given a new chance at life.

Recouture.no, reMadrass AS and Norwegian Re:Textile – three young companies, proud to demonstrate what a circular economy can look like in practice. The fashion show was framed by a seminar on bioenergy, resource utilization, and circular value chains. It’s good to talk about circularity – but we also need to show it and act on it. To create and preserve value that lasts for generations.

With this catwalk, we wanted to show that collaboration across disciplines, regions, and ideas creates development, jobs – and a more responsible future.

Why? Because we need to change how we use our resources:
👕 There are already enough clothes in the world to dress the next 6 generations.
♻️ Only 1% of textiles are recycled into new textiles.
🌍 The textile industry accounts for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions – more than aviation and shipping combined.

We made this mark – to show that change is possible.

A heartfelt thank you to the regions of Gjøvik, Ringerike and Hadeland for lifting us up 💚
And a special thanks to the engaged mayors, to Anne Lindmo – and to all the first-time models who walked the catwalk with us!
