Imagine that you have a jacket in your closet that you no longer use, either because you're tired of it or it's damaged. When contacting Recouture, you can participate in redesigning your own product, transforming it into your newfound wardrobe favorite.

You also contribute to increased social value through the development of individuals. In collaboration with Moving Mamas, Recouture aims to contribute to the inclusion and integration of immigrant women into the Norwegian society. Additionally, you've contributed to saving the planet by preventing new production and reducing the number of clothes ending up in landfills.

Seeds of Hope

When you place an redesign order, you help support the 'Seeds of Hope' program. Our donation provides low-income families in Nepal with a bag of kitchen garden seeds, training by an agriculture expert, and a greenhouse tunnel. This eventually makes them self-sufficient in food, and when the harvests are substantial enough, they can begin selling products to others. This is a commitment to invest in local grassroots-level to build more climate-resilient food systems. The program specifically helps empower women to find independence and enables them to provide education for their children.

It all began with an idea.

I came across a beautiful Norwegian Åkle at a secondhand shop in Oslo. Upon returning home, I draped it over my Norrøna jacket, which was on the floor. Filled with inspiration, I headed to my sewing studio and crafted this very first Åkle jacket.

And just like that, this journey began.
