Why redesign?

A one-of-a-kind redesign, created in collaboration with you.
Your pre-loved garment is carefully reimagined through Recouture’s design language — where Norwegian textile heritage meets contemporary form and circular thinking.

Norwegian Åkle from the Recouture studio.
Each piece is finished with a carefully selected woven tapestry, placed on the back in Recouture’s signature folded A-shape. No two åkler are alike — making every redesign truly unique.

A renewed garment with history and future.
The result is a slow fashion piece that carries both the story of its past life and a new expression designed to last.

How it works

Step 1: Find a Pre-Loved Product.

Search through your wardrobe for a pre-loved piece that aligns with our creative universe. For inspiration, explore our website and discover the aesthetic and materials we work with.

Step 2: Choose a Redesign Option.

We primarily work with jackets, but we are open to redesigning other items as well. Pricing will be adjusted accordingly.

For best results, we recommend woven materials that complement tapestry textiles. Lighter fabrics such as silk or jersey are not recommended. Down-filled pieces can be used; however, please note that after redesign, the garment cannot be tumble dried, as Åkle textiles require delicate care. Primaloft is a suitable alternative.

If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to guide you.

Step 3: Prepare and Send Your Item.

Carefully wrap the selected clothing item and send it to us. You will cover the cost of shipping it to us, and we will handle the return shipping back to you.

Please send your item to the following address: Recouture,
Vannebos veg 161 2743 Harestua Phone: +4795709292

Step 4: Redesign Process.

Each piece is developed individually, based on the garment, available Åkle textiles, and your preferences. We will guide you through options in terms of placement, expression, and overall look — ensuring the final piece reflects both our design language and your vision.

We will send you redesign suggestions through SMS or email, depending on your preference, both before and during the redesign process. This ensures that your vision is understood and effectively realized. Your unique idea will be brought to life, transforming the pre-loved piece into a one-of-a-kind garment.

Step 5: Return of Your Redesigned Item.

Your redesigned anorak will be ready during May.
The timeline may vary depending on the process — from the progress of the redesign to finding the right Åkle for your piece. This is something we will shape together.

We believe that true craftsmanship takes time, and we hope your one-of-a-kind piece will be worth the wait.
