Learn about our Kambo pieces.
-
Each piece in this collection is crafted from recovered sails and boat canopies retrieved from the bottom of the Oslo Fjord by Kambo Marina. These materials are carefully cleaned and restored before entering our redesign process.
The reclaimed textiles are combined with our signature woven åkle, produced locally at Grinakervev in Hadeland. The åkle is woven with a cotton warp and 100% lambswool weft, creating the distinctive Recouture expression — rooted in Norwegian craft traditions with a modern feel.
Every bag is lined with leftover materials.
We use YKK zippers for durability and longevity.
The red sail logo was originally found stitched onto the boat canopies we rescued. We’ve recreated this detail using leftover fabric — a subtle tribute to the material’s past.A functional, responsible and fully Norwegian-made piece — created to keep you warm while honoring the origins of the materials it comes from.

We have produced a small batch of each “one size” product. Once these items are sold out, we will continue to make them on demand.
Our current lead time is up to 2 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the order.
Each order will be shipped to you by post. You are also welcome to visit us in our Recouture Creative studio if you’d like to see, feel, or try the items in person. We’re always happy to help you find the piece that fits your needs best. -
For us, the most important thing is creating pieces that become truly useful, long-lasting companions — items you can use, repair, and keep for a lifetime.
If you have an idea for an alternative design or a version better suited to your needs, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out, and we’ll explore the possibilities together.
Full story
Kambo Marina works to protect the Oslo Fjord by cleaning up abandoned boat wrecks — sunken boat wrecks that threaten both the marine environment and local ecosystems. From these wrecks come the sails and boat canopies that form the foundation of this collection.
Together with Handelens Miljøfond, who supports Recouture in our mission to prevent more plastic from entering the ocean, this collaboration brings two worlds together — maritime cleanup and textile craftsmanship.
Through this partnership, the recovered materials from Kambo are cleaned, restored and transformed in our studio. Combined with our signature woven åkle, they become functional pieces made to last, each carrying a story of rescue, repair and renewal.
All products are designed and made locally at the Recouture Creative Studio — a fully Norwegian value chain from fjord to finished piece.
