Hadeland Folk High School

Redesign the Future.
Explore, create, and redesign with heart and hands.

Beautifully located in Brandbu, Hadeland Folk High School offers a peaceful and inspiring setting surrounded by nature.
Next autumn, the school launches a brand-new program — Reuse & Redesign.

Here, you’ll dive into the world of creative craftsmanship. You’ll learn sewing, redesign, and repair, and experiment with upcycling. This is a hands-on and inspiring year – perfect for those who love to create with their hands and want to contribute to a more circular world.

In collaboration with Recouture

At Recouture, we’re excited to welcome students from Hadeland Folk High School to our full-scale redesign studio here on Hadeland.
The studio is equipped with a variety of machines and tools for creative textile work, providing the perfect setting for hands-on learning and experimentation.

Throughout the year, we’ll host a series of workshops where students will gain insight into sustainable production methods and explore how ideas can be turned into new products – from inspiration and concept development to design and finished garments.

Together, we’ll experiment with materials, textile techniques, and circular processes, discovering how creativity and craftsmanship can contribute to the green transition.

I also want to introduce the students to design-driven innovation and creative methodologies that strengthen the value, functionality, and emotional appeal of the final product.

As the founder of Recouture, I’m passionate about giving new life to discarded textiles and exploring how traditional craftsmanship and circular thinking can shape the future of fashion and design.

Craft, Heritage & Modern Design

At Recouture, we celebrate Norwegian craftsmanship and textile traditions as an essential part of the future of design.
We work with woven textiles and traditional patterns – exploring how they can be preserved, reinterpreted, and brought into a modern context.

By using Norwegian woven fabrics and historical techniques, we aim to keep these cultural expressions alive, placing them in a new light and making them more appealing to a younger generation of consumers.
Through creative reinterpretation, traditional handcraft becomes a source of inspiration for contemporary design, sustainable production, and circular innovation.

We believe that the stories woven into these textiles connect us to our roots – and that through redesign and imagination, we can create garments that carry a love story we feel truly connected to.
