A love affair with Norrøna's past,

and a visionary embrace of the future.

“Hilde's idea is as wise as it is beautiful. There are plenty of beautiful pillows and åkler in drawers and chests all around. Many old jackets and anoraks are stored in the wardrobe. It's both original and ingenious to see how these two worlds can come together and merge into a higher unity. I love that a beautiful old åkle and a worn anorak can be reborn as a unique and beautiful garment. I discovered Recouture on Instagram and was thrilled; now I wear my åkle jacket with pride and joy”

Anne stumbled upon this vintage Norrøna anorak at a second-hand market. The anorak had weathered the elements, and it was ready for a new chapter.

She delivered the anorak to us, and we carefully deconstructed it to ensure every thread of its character was preserved. The earthy green cotton fabric met the warm wool blend of a woven åkle carpet, giving rise to a harmonious Norwegian partnership and transforming it into a one-of-a-kind piece.

Now, out and about, Anne is charming the Norwegian mountains with åkle fringes. The vintage anorak has been reborn, and its story is far from over. It's a love affair with Norrøna's past and a visionary embrace of the future.

Re-chic.
Re-stitched.
Re-couture.
