Tin buttons with a Story
- from Hønefoss
Inspired by the original busserull, I use tin buttons from Tinn-Per in the Arv Recut Shirt. Since Tinn-Per is based in the same region as us, it feels extra special to include their work. On the women’s jacket, we use the Marit button — a small detail with a lot of heritage.
Tinn-Per is a local pewter foundry with deep roots. It was founded in Oslo in 1963, originally making tin buttons and clasps. Over the years, the company expanded into gifts and souvenirs, even producing official items for the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics.
Today, Tinn-Per continues to craft high-quality pewter items inspired by Norwegian nature, history, and tradition. They carry on a 3,000-year-old legacy of tin craftsmanship in Norway—now using modern tools but the same dedication to detail. The buttons they make are 93% tin and 7% antimony—solid, beautiful, and full of meaning.
